Sydney + Trevor
5.11.19
Sydney and Trevor met in April of 2016. They met through mutual friends after Trevor had recently moved to Tulsa for a job in Broken Arrow. The two were introduced one day at Yolati (RIP) on Brookside, and they all got ice cream together. Neither Sydney nor Trevor was looking to get into any kind of relationship at the time, so there wasn't any sort of formal first date.Sydney and Trevor started spending a lot of time together. Trevor easily fell into Sydney's friend group, and they just genuinely enjoyed being around each other.Eventually, they realized that though it was never the plan, they were really really great together. So they started dating. Fast forward, three and a half years, and they are six months married with a baby on the way!
The Proposal:
"The proposal was in front of our house the August before our May wedding," Sydney says. "Trevor's concern about how the yard looked should have been a tip off... I think he mowed twice that day in preparation. He had a photographer set up across the street who took pictures and filmed but the moment was just the two of us, which was definitely my preference! Afterwards we went to dinner at Phryme and when we got back home there were about 70 people at our house there to celebrate with us (another surprise). All good friends and family (some of which had traveled from as far as Boston). We partied all night but as you might remember from our wedding, we enjoy a good party."
Sydney and Trevor are loved by so many. Their wedding was packed to the max with guests! They are such a fun, memorable couple, and we are so grateful to have had their wedding at our Pearl.
"I had been to the PDB for an event about a year before our engagement and it was such an amazing space. You all had just started using it for events and I loved the atmosphere in there. " - Sydney"I looked at doing all sorts of themes and colors but at the end of the day I felt the the Pearl was pretty enough that it didn't need much dressing up at all." - Sydney"I had a great florist who handled most of my decorations as well. The Pearl is such a pretty space that it doesn't need much in the way of decoration (one of the reasons we chose it). I just trusted my vendors and let it all come together!" - Sydney"No one is going to remember if your vases were 6 inches or 8 inches tall. No one is going to notice if you forgot your earrings or if the guacamole was left off of the buffet line. People are just going to remember how they felt while they were there. The whole goal is you don't want people to want to leave. I saw guests dance at my wedding who I never would have expected (another example of trusting your vendors and investing in a good DJ - if we had chosen all of our own music I can guarantee you my father-in-law wouldn't have been cutting up the dance floor like he was)." - Sydney"Our cake was amazing. I might be biased but it was the best wedding cake I have ever had (shoutout to Olive and Ora Baking Co.). We also had cookies (the kids loved that and were swiping them before the ceremony began), cake balls, sheet cake bites and lemon bars (we love sweets). It was all so good." - SydneyTo all of those who helped bring Trevor and Sydney's wedding vision to life, thank you! We are privileged to work with such talented professionals in our industry, and we couldn't do without you!
