When two incredibly kind and intentional people come together the possibilities are endless, and that is in essence Tor-Rel & Tahira Miles.

These two met in the fall of 2018 at Rudisill Regional Library in Tulsa “ I [Tahira] was speaking on a panel about diversity and inclusion, and Tor-Rel was attending the discussion… After the panel ended, he introduced himself and we agreed that we should get some coffee together”. That coffee date led to many more dates and ultimately deep meaningful love.

“I knew he was my person when on our first date over coffee, he looked at me and he truly saw ME - not my faults or what I wanted to project to the world - but he saw my heart; he saw who I was in the present and who I could be in the the future. And every day since that first date, he has made me feel seen, heard and loved.”

“As soon as [we] walked into the wedding venue, we knew this was our spot. We loved the layout of the space, the chandeliers, the overall feel of the space, and the amazing team working at the venue. We could already imagine the pictures!”

“I wanted a more classic, timeless color pallet - so we went with burgundy, navy blue and gold… we incorporated elements of our backgrounds through [our] décor, our journey of falling in love through the pictures and a romantic overall feel with the lanterns and candles.”

“We wanted to make sure our guests had a good time, so having good food, cake and music was important!”

The biggest challenge the couple faced was “planning a wedding in the midst of covid and battling between wanting to be surrounded by all our loved ones and keeping everyone safe. Ultimately, we opted to [make] the ceremony virtual and reduce the number of friends invited to attend in person. Having a smaller number of people in person allowed us to have more quality conversations with all our guests throughout the evening”.
