Cassie + Cash

9.22.18

Cash and Cassie met at OSU when a mutual friend, Kaitlyn, (one of Cassie's oldest and dearest friends) introduced them. The very first time they met, it was because Kaitlyn and Cassie were trying to get help with their math homework. Cassie and Cash became friends and remained friends through the rest of college but fell out of touch for a bit after Cash graduated. Fun Fact: Kaitlyn is the one who officiated their ceremony!

Cassie doesn't recall ever having an official "First Date." They reconnected one summer after college and just started spending more and more time together until they ended up here. She likes to give him a hard time about not "asking her out," but their relationship grew organically from friendship. Very "When Harry Met Sally" vibes, if you ask me.

The Proposal:

"Cash proposed to me November 13th. I had just gotten back from a work trip that weekend, so I took Monday off to have a break. We decided to go to the lake and sail for a little bit. I was not super excited about it, but he was insistent; so we went. Once we got settled and out in the middle of the lake, [we were] enjoying the beautiful day, [and] Cash asked if I wanted a drink. I said sure, so he goes into the cabin of the sailboat and comes back out with the ring and [asked]: 'Will you continue to be the wind in my sails and marry me?' It was a magical day!"

On how they planned such a great wedding at The Pearl:

"I wish I knew how I made it through. Cash is wonderful and has a way of making my visions come true, which definitely helps. Cash built all of our centerpiece boxes and turned all the lightbulb jars into vases, so it all worked how I wanted it to. We were able to pick such amazing vendors so quickly, which made a world of difference because they were able to point us in the right direction for anything we didn't know how to do or find."

On why they chose The Pearl:

"Honestly, I just fell in love with it as soon as we walked through it. The flow was perfect; the space was great. I loved that there was a separate area we could set up for dancing, so it didn't have to be the main activity for those [who] didn't want it to. Plus, The Pearl is SO full of character and charm; it just makes you want to be there! After we toured, every time I brainstormed any ideas I was picturing The Pearl, so I knew it was the one."

Thank you for choosing us, Cassie and Cash! We are forever grateful to be the backdrop of this very special day.
